Metabolic Renewal Review

Metabolic Renewal is a unique weight loss program for women, designed to suit your individual hormonal requirements. With this plan, they claim you get to create a diet, exercise and lifestyle plan that suits YOU.

Does this work for all women, and more importantly, will it work for you? In this Metabolic Renewal review, we’ll take a closer look to see exactly what you get in the plan, how it works, who it’s right for, and who it’s not right for.

For men, we recommend Metabolic Aftershock instead.

What is Metabolic Renewal?

What’s in the box

Metabolic Renewal is a holistic approach to losing weight, designed especially for women. You follow a slightly different plan according to your stage of life and hormonal profile, which is easily figured out using an online questionnaire.

Metabolic Renewal is a 12-week program that integrates the diet, exercise, and lifestyle plans recommended and customized according to your profile. If you need longer to reach your goal weight and shape, you simply repeat the program, increasing the intensity of the exercises if you wish.

You’ll get the Metabolic Renewal Roadmap containing the flexible diet plan, including recipes. You also get a DVD of graded exercises to do for just 15 minutes, 3 times a week. You can adapt these to suit your individual needs.

The plan is designed to help you lose fat fast by combining short, intense bursts of exercise with a protein-based eating program that doesn’t involve counting calories or going hungry. It was developed by integrative physician Dr Jade Teta, who also designed Metabolic Aftershock.

Metabolic Renewal quick start guide

Inside Metabolic Renewal you get:

1. Quick Start Guide

A two-page summary of the program

2. Exercise Videos on DVD or online

All of the 15-minute workouts for the 4 phases of the 12-week plan, at different levels according to your current fitness. These come on 4 DVDs for you to play on your TV or computer, or you can access them online.
Metabolic-Renewal-DVDs
Dr Jade Teta is your coach and his students demonstrate the different levels for each exercise. According to Dr Jade, all of the exercises can be done at home, with no special equipment (unless you are at a higher level of fitness where you might want to use weights). They are very quick (three 15-minute sessions a WEEK), so you can easily fit it into your schedule.

3. Metabolic Renewal Roadmap

Metabolic Renewal RoadmapA 204-page book covering:

– how Metabolic Renewal works
– hormones and metabolism
– meals, mindset, and movement
– how to get started
– how to accelerate your weight loss

The book also includes the 12-week Metabolic Meal Plan with all the recipes you need. But you don’t have to follow the meal plan exactly. If you prefer, you make your own meals, following the suggested guidelines. (That’s what I do.)

4. Transformation Tracker booklet

A 30-page booklet for you to track your progress in many different areas including weight, vitality, body shape and much more.

When you order the physical version, all of this comes in a well-designed box where you can keep everything together.

The plan is also available in a downloadable version, which saves you the shipping cost. And if you order the printed pack, you also get the downloadable version for free, instantly. This means you can access the videos online without waiting for everything to arrive in the mail. But it’s pretty good to hold everything in your hands, so if you live in North America where shipping is cheap, I recommend getting the physical copy too.

So here’s what you’re wanting to know from this Metabolic Renewal review:

Does Metabolic Renewal work?

You’ll see testimonials on the live site (click here to see them now), but the exercise element of Metabolic Renewal is based on Jade Teta’s previous Metabolic Prime and Metabolic Aftershock fitness videos. So all of the principles have been tested there.

I’ve been in Facebook groups with the people following those plans, as well as trying them myself. What I can say is that the approach works if you stick to it.

As with Metabolic Aftershock, you’re likely to get the most benefit if you’re either overweight or ‘skinny fat’ (‘skinny fat’ means within the healthy BMI range, but flabby and unfit). If you’re significantly overweight, you’ll probably need to take it slow with the exercise at first, but you can get huge benefits if you persist.

It’s fine to take it slow and do just what you can. Jade Teta stresses this all through the videos. When he says 10 repetitions of something, you can do 5, or just one.

The people who had problems with it were mostly either too disabled to do any exercise at all, or so fit already that the exercises did nothing for them–or so they said. I did find this a little hard to believe! The exercises are graded, and to me, you’d have to be a real gym bunny to feel no benefit at all from the highest grade in the videos.

The lowest grade stretched me at first, but I was pretty unfit. If you have any issues such as knee problems, you can either change out the exercises that don’t suit you, skip some repetitions, or do a lesser version (like stepping instead of jumping).

It’s important to rest when you need to, and don’t do the exercises too often. This is because muscle development actually happens when you rest, not when you exercise.

And of course, check with your doctor before starting any program, especially if you have medical issues.

Who can benefit from Metabolic Renewal

First, this program is especially designed for women. You’ll only be helped by all the references to hormone levels if you’re female (of any age).

It’s designed for women of all ages, including before, during, and after the menopause. There are slightly different plans for these different stages, and some tweaking for different hormonal types of younger women.

Metabolic Renewal DVD caseOf course, you’ll get most out of Jade Teta’s Metabolic Renewal program if you want to lose fat and tone up your body.

The short bursts of exercise recommended here are perfect for women with busy schedules or those who dislike exercise and get bored quickly.

You may need to tweak a few things. For example, I was flicking through the Metabolic Renewal Roadmap and saw a recommendation for post-menopausal women to walk 4 hours a day! I thought–eek! That may work if you’re retired, but nobody with a job could do it! However, it does include ALL kinds of walking that you do during the day, including cleaning the house or walking to the photocopier at work.

I think it’s better to look at it in terms of steps. The program recommends 5,000 to 20,000 steps a day (around 1 to 4 hours if you did all the steps at once, but nobody does.) If you get a step counter, you can easily track this, and you’ll likely be surprised how much you already do.

Who will not benefit from the program

This plan is not designed for men. So if you’re male, I recommend Metabolic Aftershock.

For women who own Metabolic Aftershock and are doing fine with the exercises and diet plan there, you probably don’t need this. You might want to get it anyway for the hormonal aspect or to motivate yourself to follow the program more exactly, but I think you’ll find it follows the same basic plan, which works very well.

If you already do a lot of exercise, and you like working out at the gym, you may find these exercises unnecessary. You might still want to get it for the diet plan, however.

If you can’t or don’t want to move your body at all, I’d recommend getting The Metabolic Factor instead. With Metabolic Renewal, you do need to be prepared to at least stand and move around a little for the 15 minute sessions.

If you’re currently pregnant and don’t already do a lot of exercise, you can benefit from the other portions of this program, but save the exercise element for after you’ve given birth and are ready to get rid of that baby-belly.

Cost, access, and where to buy Metabolic Renewal

Metabolic Renewal is not available in stores. You need to click here to get it.

You don’t have to watch a seemingly endless video if you use that link. It will take you to a simple page where you can see all the details and order if you decide you want it.

If you get the 60% launch discount, the cost at the time of writing is just $37, plus shipping and handling if you want everything delivered to your home. You get the online version either way.

There’s a full 90 day money back guarantee, so you can return it for a refund (less shipping) if you’re not satisfied.

Not sure I want to try this program. I am 76 years old, 5 feet tall, and weigh 98 lbs. I don’t want too loose any weight! Just want to loose my little belly fat. I’ve been doing functional exercise for nine years. I do stretches and cardio for warmups and weight bearing and resistance exercise. Nothing seems to get rid of the belly fat. But I don’t want to loose weight. Don’t know how to do this.i eat really clean. No processed food, really low sugar intake. I struggle to get good sleep, and I have anxiety. So I’m guessing I have a hormone imbalance. So this program got my interest except for the loosing weigh part. Any suggestions?Thankyou

      Hi Patricia,
You probably wouldn’t lose weight on the plan as you don’t need to. If you did find you were hungry, you could just increase the amount of approved foods.
You said that you don’t eat processed food, but do you eat flour products like pasta and bread?
If so, you might benefit from cutting those out and increasing your protein, assuming you are otherwise healthy.
It can be tough to lose the belly fat post-menopause, especially if you’ve had children, which leaves the muscles a little slack. The exercises in this plan should be great for that (as long as you are cleared by your doctor to do exercise).

My naturopathic doctor recommends this brand for me and my daughter. It comes in two flavors chocolate or vanilla. Has no dairy is vegan and dairy free.
I love it. I don’t use whey products so this is a perfect substitute for me.

It’s possible to do this as a vegan, but your options will be limited. You’ll need to count beans/legumes as protein foods instead of carbs, where they have it in the plan, and add other protein foods such as tofu and seitan, which they don’t include in the plan at all. This would make it possible.

But to be honest, I think you would find it limiting. Low carb diets may not be the best choice for vegans. You might want to simply cut out sugar, refined carbs, and highly processed foods like “fake” meats and cheese.

I am 62 and post-menopausal by several years. The quiz gave me hormone level six, which I am not sure it is correct. After reading your review and many of the comments, I am wondering if this is a low-carb diet no matter what hormone level you are?
Also, I wondered if there would be up selling after the initial hour long video and the comments here indicate there are. You say that you can close out and that the upsell isn’t necessary, but could you tell us what the upsell‘s are about and how much more money we would be looking at spending without having to sit through additional long videos?
I prefer to know what the bottom line is of all the offers going in before I get trapped in a series of offers I can’t get out of in order to get to the bottom line of what’s offered for how much.
    Thank you!

Hi, yes, all of the options are relatively low carb in different ways. You see all of the options in the plan, so you can switch if you think another one fits your situation better.

I’m sorry I don’t remember what the other offers are! Maybe someone who has ordered more recently can answer that…? I do know that you don’t have to buy any of them, as I didn’t!

You will get a phone call from someone to help you get started during this call they will recommend some supplements and “coaching” you can say no to both.

I had an endometrial ablation due to my periods being too heavy, so a lot of the questions in the survey do NOT apply to me. How do I fill out the survey and find out my hormonal level then?

    Please advise

I would just fill it out the best you can. If you decide to get the program, you can see all of the options for all of the hormonal types, so you can decide then which fits your situation the closest.

Do the protein shakes and fat burners have to be purchased to participate in this program or are they optional to complete the program?

    Reply

They are optional! You can follow the plan with 100% regular generic foods that are easy to find, if you want – and that’s what I do myself.

    Hello,
I would like to try this program, but the quiz put me in #6 “ovarian fatigue” and I don’t haven’t had ovaries for many years. Is this the correct plan?

    1. Rosemary Post author

No, it sounds like something went wrong there! But if you get the plan you will see all of the hormonal types, and you can pick the one that is closest to your situation.
      Hope that helps!

Hello, I am 47 and I am in pretty good shape. I workout with a HIIT group 5 times a week and eat a pretty good diet with not much processed food. I am in menopause about 3 years now and have a huge belly that looks like I’m about 4 months pregnant and doesn’t go with my body that I can’t seem to get rid of?? I hold my belly in constantly so people wont judge me. It makes me feel bad about myself and I even hold it in when I’m in front of my husband. LOL he has no idea because I’ve been holding it in for so many years. Will this program work for me? Thank you!!!

I’m so sorry for the delay replying to your question. Maybe you already got the plan by now, and then I hope you’re finding it’s working!

If you don’t have it yet, then I think it could help you as long as the belly is caused by an accumulation of fat (which is definitely possible in menopause). But you might want to just check that you don’t have something like fibroids which are growths in the womb (not cancerous). You may be able to feel this for yourself by lying on your back and pressing your lower belly around the womb area – are there any lumps in there? Or have a doctor check it if you’re not sure.

But most likely this is just a redistribution of weight which tends to gather in the mid-section of the body after the menopause. And then yes, a program that targets hormone-related gains could help.

I am interested in your program but have a few questions before I commit. i am a Type 2 diabetic but am not on any medications, as of yet and don’t want to be. However I also have some food sensitivity. Are there ways in the recipes to substitute various foods. IE I am gluten sensitive, can not ingest nightshade vegetables , brown rice or brown rice pasta to name a few.

My motivation is very low even though I know I need to move.

have tried many other programs with little to no results other than my wallet being lighter. therefore am skeptically of amazing claims on the internet.

Also do you have a support group on line or a way for people to connect in the same city etc.

    Please advise.

      Hi Annette,
Yes, you can substitute foods. There are recipes but you don’t have to follow them, they’re just for ideas. You can create your own meals from the lists of foods, and that’s what I usually do.

I did the quiz and was assessed as a hormone type 3. However based on the description of the type 3 profile in the video I do not agree with this assessment.

My question is: Does this program provide information for all hormone types? Does it assume that your hormone type will change as you age so that you can redo the quiz and adjust as needed?

      Hi Gail,

Yes, you get the information for all hormone types, so you can take another look and choose the one that you think fits you best.

    Hi,
I am 73 years old, 5′ 9″ and weigh 158 lbs. I am not fat anywhere but my stomach. I cannot seem to lose the belly fat. I went through menopause in 2000 and have since had a hysterectomy without removal of ovaries. I have charcot marie tooth (CMT) which affects the peripheral nerves, so I cannot do exercises that normal people can do because I wear braces on both legs to keep me walking. I do go to an aerobics class in the pool 3 times a week and do floor exercises everyday. I really want to lose the belly fat. Am I a good candidate for this program?

      Hi Nancy,

It’s possible that the diet aspect of the program could help you lose belly fat. Low carb diets can help people who are not overweight tighten up their bodies and convert fat into muscle, plus there is the hormonal aspect in this plan.

On the other hand, to be honest, in your situation where you are within the healthy BMI range and only about 10 pounds over the middle point of the range, you could probably achieve the same thing by cutting down on carbs just from following free information online.

You shouldn’t need to reduce calories – be careful not to go on a restrictive diet where you would get very hungry and perhaps start to binge-eat. That would likely increase stomach fat, so would have the opposite effect to what you want.

      I hope that helps

I am going to try this plan but I would suggest the extra 30 minutes or more of Customize Your Order should be shortened. After I already watch a 1 hour video of my metabolic type now I get 3 more videos to sell additional items. You can’t bypass or say no until you get past a certain point in the video. This is just too long of a process to purchase.

I know what you mean! In fact, after you have ordered, you can close the video that follows – they say you shouldn’t, but the truth is, your order is complete as soon as you have paid, and you don’t miss out on anything.

Right?! I got a little irked and started to think maybe I’d made a mistake putting in all my cc info only to feel like a hustle was happening. I left the video and I think my order still went through which is good. Guess we’ll see…

I’ve tried so many diets over the years. This is a life style change. Not a quick Keto fix. I just started this program and love it. The support that you get from the MR Facebook group is outstanding. Not one of us is alike and Jade says that constantly. We have to be our own detective to figure out what works best for us. I would have paid 5 times over the price of $37 for this program. I’m looking forward to where this will take me. Dive in ladies and go for it!

PS – There does seem to be alot of advertising and you do get a bunch of emails, but I have ignored them all. Stick to the basic program, watch all of his video and/or read what you can. He has something here!

I can not walk any Further than a hallway. I need to lose 100 pounds to get knee surgery. My legs are stuck in a squat position. I have very little range of motion in my knees. My back is killing me. My hips hurt. I am menopause. I get hot flashes and night sweats. Will this diet work for me? I am able to exercise in pool only at a gym I try to do 3 days a week. I can not stand for more than 5 minutes then the pressure builds in my knees. I was biking 30 miles 3 times a week 3 years ago but gained 50 taking on care of elderly father with dimentia. The stress and poor eating during this has crippled me. Please point me in direction I can fix this. I am insulin resistance from pcos. But I have not had a cycle In over a year.

Hi Betty, you would be able to follow the diet plan in this program, and if you are willing to follow it – which will mean cutting out fast foods and most high carb foods like sugar and bread – then it should help someone in your situation. Weight loss and better nutrition are both good for easing stiffness and pain. But you will have to make a strong resolution to follow the plan and stick to it.

I suggest making a list of the reasons why you want to lose weight and be healthier, all the pain and issues that you have now and what you fear for the future, plus the benefits that will come with losing weight, and keep looking at that list to help you stay motivated. Getting some support would help too, whether it’s someone to take over caring for your father from time to time to give you a break, or joining groups for people with dementia and their carers in your local area (anything that you can take your dad to will help you get out of the house and meet other carers), as well as finding support forums online.

You wouldn’t be able to follow the exercise plan in the program, but you have that covered if you’re doing what you can at the pool.

      Best, Rosemary

Hi Chasity, as pretty much anyone will tell you, you need to move away from processed foods and fast foods if you want to lose weight. So this does involve some cooking, or at least food preparation – you could avoid actual cooking by eating a lot of salads and smoothies, but most people will do some.

I’m not a doctor but as far as I know, a low carb diet is good for people with thyroid issues. I think this should work for someone in your situation if you stick to it, although perhaps it will take more time than for others.

I believe there are foods you should not eat while taking synthoid, like soy, walnuts, and grapefruit. These aren’t a major part of the plan, so that shouldn’t cause you any problem. There would be some dietary fiber in vegetables, but not huge amounts.

I had estrogen positive/PR+ breast cancer three years ago and am not allowed to have any of those hormones in my body. I was already well into menopause. I’m 53 and about 30 pounds overweight. I don’t see cancer listed in the “if you had this you can still benefit” category. I also am hypothyroid. Will this program work for me?

I don’t see any reason why this wouldn’t work for you, but given your past history, I think you should check with a medical professional before making changes to your diet, in case it affects your hormones in a negative way. Are there specific foods that you’re not allowed to eat?

Hello. I had my first baby 9 months ago at the age of 42. I’ve never had trouble losing weight before, but the baby weight is just not coming off, likely due to cortisol levels. I’d say no to the workouts. You would have to be very careful if you wanted to try. It would be better to work with a physiotherapist who could work around your specific injuries. The diet plan still might help you, however.
